Children, Teens and Adults

The face of orthodontics changed forever when Invisalign debuted in 1998. Invisalign has effectively straightened and beautified smiles for decades. Children as young as 7 can be successfully treated with Invisalign. Even patients who have been told they are not candidates for Invisalign can often enjoy successful treatment. The possibilities are broader than one might think, and the only way to know for sure is to schedule a consultation.

Braces

Braces are still an option for many patients and we offer two types of braces at Lux:

Traditional

As the first appliance widely and effectively used to straighten teeth, traditional metal braces are still a very popular option for patients. Braces require more diligent brushing and flossing but a committed patient can get the job done.

Cosmetic

Cosmetic/Clear Braces provide the power of traditional braces but with a more discreet look. At Lux, we use monocrystalline sapphire brackets that are non-porous, so they do not stain and will not be discolored by consuming certain foods and drinks.

Retainers

A completed smile is cause for celebration, but it’s not the end of treatment! Whether Invisalign, Invisalign Teen or braces were used to create your smile, retainers are still the key to a lifelong result.

There are multiple types of retainers available, though not every one may be suited to a particular patient. There are clear, plastic retainers that are comfortable and can also be used to bleach a patient’s teeth. There are retainers that are bonded to the inside of the front teeth. Meticulous brushing and flossing is needed to maintain excellent oral health. Finally, there are traditional removable wire and plastic retainers that patients design themselves.

At Lux, we will review all of your options to determine which style of retainers is best for you or your child.
